MechWarrior2 Mission Library: Credits

I did this site for a couple of reasons. When I first went through MW2, the storyline just seemed like the perfect content for a web site. The second reason was to learn some about HTML / web scripting  / DHTML / CSS. By 'borrowing' the content, it allowed me to concentrate on presentation.

This website currently has cascading style sheets for each of the 4 major sections. These style sheets specify the color scheme, backgrounds, and embedded fonts.

Earlier version of this site had  used a) themes, b) page embedded styles, c) scripted background update (based on browser window size). All of these slowed down the download. I discovered that the key to 'high performance' web sites is knowing how to use the cache.
